Adding prestige to the occasion, Undersecretary for Operations Malcolm S. Garma graced the celebration and delivered an inspiring message to the honorees. “We have to celebrate the victories during our time in DepEd,” he emphasized, reminding the retirees of the value of their contributions throughout their years of service. He uplifted them further, saying, “You owe it to yourself—you deserve a break. There’s a silver lining ahead of us. Let us not end our service with bitterness, but with a spirit of gratitude and positivity.”

DepEd Caraga Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion also lauded the retirees, underscoring the significance of their journey. “Retirement is a blessing. Not all teachers reached this far,” RD Asuncion said, affirming that their years of service have left a lasting legacy for learners and communities alike.

The program highlighted heartfelt messages, meaningful presentations, and the awarding of Certificates of Recognition to distinguished retirees, including Gregoria T. Su, PhD of Bislig City and Nelia S. Lomocso, PhD, CESO V of Surigao del Sur. The tribute culminated in an early dinner and socials, fostering camaraderie and fellowship as colleagues and friends celebrated the honorees’ lasting legacy in education.
