The meeting brought together Schools Division Superintendents, Assistant Schools Division Superintendents, regional and division chiefs, and members of the ManCom Secretariat to deliberate on key regional priorities and strategic initiatives for the effective delivery of basic education services across Caraga.
Setting the tone during his Director's Time, Farnazo shared the principles that will guide his leadership, envisioning DepEd Caraga as an engaging and enabling organization where collaboration, organizational culture, and service excellence become the foundation of improved institutional performance.
"I want a Caraga nga masinabtanon (understanding), where we love each other despite our rough edges. I'd like to have a Caraga leadership that cares for each other and has a greater space for understanding," Farnazo said.
He likewise reflected on how his assignment to Caraga was, in his words, providential, describing the series of events and circumstances that led him to the region and made him immediately feel at home. He shared his aspiration to cultivate a culture anchored on empathy, mutual respect, and collective responsibility while assuring the management committee that the region's established best practices and successful initiatives will be sustained and further strengthened.
The committee then discussed several policy and management matters, including the status of the Khan Academy implementation for School Year 2026–2027; the proposed conduct of the Regional Academic and Skills Development Program for Regional Festival of Talents (RASD-RFOT) and Regional Academic and Skills Development Program for Regional Schools Press Conference (RASD-RSPC); budget utilization; the regional culmination of National Teachers' Month; Learning Continuity Spaces batches 1 and 2; human resource development activities; enrollment quick count, school security audit results, and research implementation status; and the creation and deployment of 10,000 School Counselor Associate I positions.
The discussions enabled the committee to align priorities, monitor the implementation of major programs, and identify strategic actions to ensure the continuous improvement of education governance and learner support services throughout the region.
Following the meeting, the management committee held a simple fellowship in celebration of Regional Director Farnazo's birthday. Schools divisions and regional offices presented tokens of appreciation and special musical performances in his honor.
In return, Farnazo presented each Schools Division with a mini gong as a supplement to the traditional gavel, symbolizing authority, sound judgment, and the official acts of the Regional Management Committee as it continues to make decisions that advance quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education for every learner in Caraga.
